Weeds & Wildflowers

Our Sunday picnic tradition led us to Holly River State Park this weekend where we ventured on the Rock Garden Trail after eating.  What fun we had.

The words are from a song by Jana Kramer:

"I'm a dandelion, he's my buttercup
I'm the clover, he's the love.
Our love goes on forever.
He's a painted daisy
I'm the bluegrass underneath.
He's all faith and I'm a doubter.
He's the sweet and I'm the sour.
We're like weeds and wildflowers."

Bra Pappa

Our son Chris, who graduated from WVU in December, now works as a Chemist at Mylan Pharmaceuticals here in Morgantown.  After starting his job at Mylan, Chris moved into an unfurnished apartment.  He bought a mattress and 5 pieces of unassembled furniture from IKEA.  Bob kidded that he'd have to look up cuss words in Swedish.  (since IKEA furniture originates in Sweden).  He very patiently put the furniture together.  "Bra Pappa" is "Good Dad" in Swedish.

He Gets Things Done

Last week we proudly watched our oldest son Greg march in the University of Minnesota's graduation to receive his doctoral degree.  After the ceremony, his adviser found us and stated that Greg "gets things done".  I don't think Greg honestly knew what his adviser thought of him and really appreciated hearing that.  He and Michelle will move to South Carolina where he's accepted a position as Assistant Professor of Computer Science at the University of South Carolina.
