Scrumptious Scenery

Picnic Season begins in Spring and ends in Fall. We love our secluded spots. We see flowers and wildlife. There are spots for walking. Waterways abound. In Picnic Season 2019 we visited over 16 parks.

December Cards

A couple of my life-long friends had birthdays this month (66 years young!)  This card is for Linda, who's Dad suggested she "sit with me-the little Reeves girl" when we entered first grade.

Some friendships last a whole lifetime long
Some are here today and tomorrow gone
These loving Birthday wishes I send to you today
Are like Our friendship and in our hearts will always stay.

Liz celebrated her 66th birthday on December 3rd.  I included a letter she sent me in the early 80s after the birth of her second child.

It seems that certain
Friends we meet
Are thought of for a while
While others are remembered
For a special deed or smile
But those who stay
Within our hearts
Are very few
And that is just
The kind of friend
That I have found in you.

My work colleague Sally celebrates a birthday.  Sally's an older fair haired lady who keeps going back to work after retiring.

May this card hold very special memories,
Of days that have gone and have past,
Yet today is a celebration to build sweet memories to last,
For although we look back over the years,
That hold people and thoughts that are dear,
We also look forward to the future,
With best wishes for a wonderful year.

Bob's brother had a birthday.  He is a "classic".

May today be the start of a wonderful year,
Where all your dreams come true,
A year of joy and happiness, in everything you do,
For you are a special person,
Unique - you're one of a kind,
So today we wish you a great birthday,
And may the next 365 days be kind!

Can't believe my nephew Dan was 40 this month.  He's the middle son of my sister Terry.

We are sending these special wishes
for a wonderful, beautiful day,
a day that's full of memories
on this your 40th birthday

I started making Christmas cards last summer and made many.  The best part about it is that I let my Mom pick out the ones she wants to send first.  We also gave all the folks we know at her Senior Center a handmade card.  No 2 cards were alike.
Christmas comes but once a year.
These greetings sent with festive cheer!
