When I sent this Halloween card to my sister Terry, I hoped it wasn't too "dark". . . but I loved the paper! She too loved it.
"Don't go out tonight
be sure of a great big fright
lots of creepy things out there
vampires that bite
so if you change your mind
beware it's Halloween night!"
My card for my sister Amy is more of a "fall" card.
"Halloween has arrived
A day full of fun and little fright
From sunrise to midnight
Happy Halloween Day !"
I received a surprise Halloween card from a scrapbook friend and this one was the one I sent to her.
"It's time for Halloween you know,
when all things dark, begin to glow.
Time for lots of scary fun,
to laugh, and jump, even run!
A witch, a cat, and pumpkins too,
and lots of candy so sweet like you!"
Our friend Wanda turned 90 this month. She is one talented and hard working lady.
"Happy Birthday Wanda
90 years young today
you are a wonderful lady
and you deserve this special day.
So this card is sent with love
and with respect and gratitude too
because you are a special lady
and we really do love you."
My former colleagues Virginia and John celebrate birthdays in October. John's wife Betty (she also was a colleague) loved owls.
"When someone as nice as you has a very special day,
It goes with much saying that good wishes are
coming your way, May the hours be filled with
sunshine, with love and laughter too,
For you deserve the very best,
Not only today -but the whole year through!"
"May today be the start of a wonderful year,
Where all your dreams come true,
A year of joy and happiness, in everything you do,
For you are a special person,
Unique - you're one of a kind,
So today we wish you a great birthday,
And may the next 365 days be kind!"
Birthday card for Diana.
"I hold some wishes in my hand,
And they are just for you,
I wish for joy and happiness,
Today and all year through,
I wish that you find sunshine,
In every single day,
For you deserve good things in life,
To always come your way!"
Birthday card for Mike. (He loves his dog!)
"Today is rather special,
And it really wouldn't do,
If I ignored this notable occasion,
By not sending good wishes to you,
For you deserve some recognition,
For what you do for others each day,
You never command any attention,
You just do it in your own quiet way,
A thoughtful and considerate gentleman,
Head and shoulders above the rest,
So this cards holds lots of love and thoughts,
Hoping this birthday is one of the best!"
For my friend Paul whose Dad died this month.
