When Greg posted this photo on Flickr, it reminded me of the poem for parents about hand prints. Something about the hand prints getting higher and higher and then disappearing. I won't dwell on the fleeting moments of childhood as Greg continues to share his photos, his thoughts and opinions. That makes me happy. Photo taken at the Minnesota Zoo. March 2011

I made the word block--very easy to do in photoshop by choosing the black background color, choosing white type and adjusting the font size to fit the image size.

My birthday is just three weeks after Valentine's Day and Bob gave me flowers on both occasions. He was pleased the roses lasted for two weeks. I am pleased, the photos will last even longer.

Evergreen

For several years after we built the house we got rooted evergreen trees for Christmas until we ran out of space. These trees have grown and provide cover and sap for the birds. The pine branches are especially pretty in the snow. Photo of boys 1996.

The Right Chemistry

They've been a couple for eight years but work and studies sometimes had them in different places. Seven months after his joining her in Minneapolis, Greg and Michelle are engaged! We are thrilled.

The photo in this layout was made Christmas of 2006. Greg still had his long hair and Michelle wears the Lord of the Rings necklace he gave her.

I'm unsure if they had the same chemistry class, but they had the same teacher and together they make the right chemistry. Bob says they're both over achievers, yet laid back. They know how to relax with travel, gaming, music, reading and each other.

Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ra

In the year 1770, Patrick Mullan, who was born and lived in the City of Armagh, Province of Ulster, Ireland, left his native land and came to Maryland. He was my Great Great Great Grandfather. Mary E. Parcell Given was born in 1855 in Ireland and came to America, settling in West Virginia. She was Bob's Great Grandmother. These portraits are the oldest I have in these family lines. The title of the layout is an Irish Lullaby my mother sang to me and my siblings. "Just a simple little ditty, in her good ould Irish way. . . oft in dreams I wander to that cot again."

Uncle Dick

My Uncle Dick is being honored this weekend at a surprise 80th birthday party given by his daughters. I've been recently connected with these cousins via Facebook and was thrilled when they posted this picture of him with his mother.

Uncle Dick is my Dad's younger brother. Their mother, Mae Kathryn Whetzel Reeves, died shortly after this photo was taken. She was only 34 years old and I'd only seen one photo of her prior to this one.

This page is an 8 X 8 inch layout I'll give to him Saturday. It will be great to see the family, many of whom I haven't seen since they were little girls.

Gecko

One of my staff members sheepishly told me that someone had nicknamed me "Gecko". Could it have been because I wore green shoes and lots of clothing in this my favorite color? My purse, my wallet, my car are all green. I love any green vegetable. So I didn't take offense. Like in the song Vegetable Car, "the one thing my heart requires is that you admire me!"
