Friend
Our small family so enjoyed the wedding. Chris said it was the best wedding ever and I loved being close to him too!

1st To Arrive
Our family first arrived at the wedding site 2 hours early. . . then decided to go to a nearby market for coffee. More time for family photos. (top photo: Greg, Cindy, Bob & Chris) (bottom photo: Greg & Chris with Uncle David Gay)

Wedding Greg & Michelle 2012
Noerenburg Memorial Gardens on Lake Minnetonka was the perfect setting for the wedding of our children on May 19th.
Bob has so many great pictures. . . 130+ in the proof albums I made for us, Michelle & Greg, Janet & Doug. The wedding was so unique as is the couple. I will share the story in future layouts.

Invitations
This weekend I will officially have a daughter-in-law when our son Greg marries his long time girl friend Michelle. These are the invitations I made for them. I first got a book called "Little Book of Letter Press" and asked Greg to pick out some invitations he liked. I played with different fonts, added Rhonna Farrer brushes and sent the couple samples through email to make their choice. The pretty embossed paper was purchased at Michaels as was the bling (gems). I cut vellum to add inside the envelope in their colors.
For the RSVP, I used more Rhonna brushes. I wasn't able to buy packs of papers in the same size, but it didn't matter. I tested samples on test paper cut to size and made more according to the paper I was able to find.
This is my 499th post. When I return from the wedding,at post 500, I will select a winner for a nice giveaway. Any comments left until then is a chance to win! I appreciate your visits!

Moms and Dads
While searching for a picture of Mom, Bob's Mom & me together thirty some years ago, I found an even better one of our parents together. Our parents loved each other, and were able to visit each others' homes once. This was the visit my parents made to Bob's St. Albans home in 1980. From the left are Jim Reeves (my Dad age 57), Maxine and Jim Gay (ages 60 and 68)and June Reeves (my Mom age 54). This photo is priceless.

The Robin's Song
After a mild winter and early spring, we were hit with a late April snow storm. The words from a poem by Vienna Bombardieri were fitting for the time: "Insistently persistently he chirps wishing to deny snow that lurks. Return again my sweet spring".

Boys in Dresses
Henry & Anna Fier pose with the oldest of their children Christie Jimmy & Addie. The boys dresses were likely made by my Great Grandma, a seamstress. c. 1898.
Thousands of photographs from the mid and late 19th century show boys wearing dresses. This was done by doting mothers as they were the ones caring for small children. This convention sharply declined within a decade around the turn of the century.
Here's a layout of the family in 1914. (Christie, Addie & Jimmy are in the back row, 1st, 2nd and 4th as young men) Grandma probably made their suits then too!
