Troubadour

Bob loved the title track on the George Strait CD "Troubadour" and played it over and over again. Here's a picture of my young troubadour, dressed in work clothes and on assignment at Valley Falls near Fairmont, WV.

"I still feel 25 most of the time

Sometimes I feel like Jesse James still tryin' to make a name
Knowing nothing's gonna change who I am

Well, the truth about a mirror is it don't really tell the whole truth,
It don't show what's deep inside.
Oh read between the lines,
it's really no reflection of my youth.

I was a young troubadour when I rode in on this song
I'll be an old troubadour when I'm gone."

Mom and Dad: Thank you for your service

The guide in the Marine Museum shook Dad's hand twice and thanked him for his service to his country. He was clearly a hero, a decorated soldier on Iwo Jima. My Mom too was a star who at a young age of 17 replaced men in factories to build the airplane seen here.

Johnstown Pa. Trip

After watching the documentary on the Johnstown Pa. flood of 1889 I was flooded with emotion. I did enjoy the 2 hour trip from home through pretty farmland and following the Flight 93 Memorial Highway. After descending into downtown Johnstown where two bodies of water meet, it was easy to see why the city was devastated when a dam at the top of the mountain gave way. The stories of families lost were saddening. The highlight of the trip was riding the incline built after the flood to transport workers home.

Flooded with emotion

I'm having fun creating pages with "flaps"--single pages that I'm able to add lots of pictures that aren't so small you can't see them. Here's my latest creation.

Places You'll Remember

We were so happy to pick up Greg at the airport Saturday when he returned from his internship in California. He got some great pictures from his travels this past year and I was able to download some from his web sets and make him an album. Here is my page that is a summary of some of the places he's been.

Journaling: "Your academic achievement has taken you places. Glad you take some scenic sidetrips & photos. The most treasured times are those spent with Michelle."

TSA

Chris returned from a 3 day officer training workshop in Logan, WV excited about making new friends and about their plans for the state Technology Student Association.

Among their plans is a "Dress for Success" workshop at the Fall Leadership Conference and among the photos were some examples of this and some other fun shots too.

I was tickled when he asked me, "Are you going to do anything with these?". With such good material, it didn't take long for me to create this first layout!

Journaling:
"At the State Officer Summer Training in Logan, Chris soon made good friends with his team. They were busy from morning until night. In his favorite photo in front of the police cruiser, Chris is surrounded by the other officers. In addition to planning activities for upcoming conferences & publications, they visited the grave of the Devil Anse Hatfield, swam, saw an outdoor play & had a whipped cream fight."
