Each Other
Our wedding pictures were Kodachrome, held in a slide tray in our closet. We'd never taken the time nor the money to make prints. . . think it's time! We were happy then, happy now. . . with each other. 1976

Blue Mosque
Greg and Michelle's honeymoon to the Sublime Porte. Here is Michelle in headscarf at the Blue Mosque. This historic mosque was built c1610 during the rule of Ahmed I. The interior is lined with more than 20,000 ceramic tiles. 2012
The stamping, inking, gesso, cheesecloth and die cut paper all added terrific texture to the layout. I thought Greg's pictures looked like they came out of National Geographic.

Rewind 15 Years
Last week we took a Sunday drive to Cool Springs Park "3 mountains over" from Morgantown. It's a place with a bunch of old curious fixtures. 15 years ago we took a vacation day together, sent the boys to school and day care, and drove there on a pretty fall day. On that day, I took the bottom picture of Bob posing in front of the silo with the advertisement "Film Sale, 3 Rolls $1.00". That picture was always a favorite of ours. Last Sunday we relived the moment.
When Bob studied these last night, he compared and contrasted:
"Jeans-jeans,
Photo vest-photo vest
Hiking boots, hiking boots,
Nikon, Nikon
Film, Digital"
I added the "You and I-You and I"
No need to rewind the clock. . . the best things remain the same!

On This Day
Bob and I are on our annual June vacation spending a few days on the road. So today I post a digital layout from the kids' wedding. This layout is inspired from the preview of this digi-kit from Paislee 'On This Day'.
On the first day of summer it was almost 100 degrees, so the stop along the Shenandoah River was sheer delight.
I never tire spending some time in historical Gettysburg. Yesterday we visited favorite spots in Winchester and today we're in Manassas. The trip ends with the Great American Scrapbook Convention in Chantilly..........think I've got some photos to scrap!

Mother
When I called my Mom and Dad yesterday, my Mom said she hadn't heard from me in a while. We used to email everyday. Now I email a few times a week. She replies every now and then. I often say "I need my Mom fix!". So this one's for her. A picture of us on Mother's Day!
This layout is inspired by Morag Cutts' layout on the cover of the May 2012 Scrap 365 magazine.

Originator
As I was looking through an envelope of old pictures a while back, Bob picked these two out and said I should do something with these.
Is there a more perfect time than Father's Day?
"Bob and sons Greg (9) and Chris (3) on Dad's Day c 1996 are much like
Jim and sons David (5) and Bob (3) c1954."
For my title I went to the dictionary
(note the definition I added to the background cardstock).
I'm unsure what word I chose to start which led me here.
I added a digital grunge frame to the background cardstock and a digital frame to the picture of Bob's Dad and sons. I scanned a piece of the Little Yellow Bicycle paper (the lower left flower like pattern), reduced the size, erased a portion of it and added my journaling.
Each of the boys have certain characteristics of their Dads
which make them so special to many!

The Dance
Doug alerted me when he was about to dance with his daughter--he knew I wanted to scrapbook that. I did not know Greg would ask me to dance. That brought me to tears.
Then Michelle cried tears of joy too!

You Always Treat Me Well
Jake O'Connor's Public House was the site of the reception with music by the Wild Colonial Bhoys. Great music; great fun!
The song, "Friday Night" is from their CD:
The song, "Friday Night" is from their CD:
"I went out on Friday night, got half cut on the stout,
Came back home and stumbled and you nearly threw me out,
I plead my case down on my knees, you answered me with scorn,
Gave to me that look that made me wish I wanted more"
We ordered dinner from the menu and had a memorable time.

Song of Solomon
The last reading at the wedding of Greg and Michelle was by their friend Allyson, from Song of Solomon: "Set me as a seal upon your heart, as a seal upon your arm. For love is strong as death, jealousy is fierce as is the grave. It's flashes are flashes of the very flame of the Lord. Many waters cannot quench love, neither floods drawn it. If a man offered for love all the wealth of his house he would be utterly despised."

They have love. . . and typewriters
The readings at the kids' wedding were unique to them. Greg's life-long friend Matt read from Sherlock Holmes 'The Red Headed League': "I know (my dear Watson) that you share my love of all that is bizarre and outside the conventions and humdrum routine of everyday life. You have shown your relish for it by the enthusiasm which has prompted you to chronicle, and, if you will excuse me saying so, somewhat to embellish so many of our own little adventures."
Michelle's sister Christina read from 'Racter, an Artificial Intelligence': "Bill sings to Sarah, Sarah sings to Bill. Perhaps they will do other dangerous things together. They may eat lamb or stroke each other. They may chant of their difficulties and their happiness. They have love but they also have typewriters."
I made the background paper by adding various digital textures and brushes to my canvas and printing it and my title on beige cardstock. Then I added a shimmering mist. I thought the brush of the man (cropped from a digital frame) looked like Sherlock Holmes. The typewriter and glasses are rub-ons.
To end the ceremony, Michelle's life-long friend Allyson read from Song of Solomon...........that will be another layout!

Michelle was a beautiful bride and Bob took great pictures. This page couldn't have been easier........
Michelle's cape was to conceal the dress and in case it rained.
