November Cards

My former colleague Marylene has a birthday this month.  Marylene works hard, has a good sense of humor, is a good Mom and wife and is very pretty.

Our daughter-in-law Michelle has a birthday.  Michelle is all-around talented.  She likes to sew and much more.

There were many students and interns who helped with our Dietetic Association premiere Whole Grains day.  These thank you cards are for them.

A deed performed in duty
Has merits very well known.
A deed performed in kindness
Is also very well known
But a kindness given selflessly
Has merits and rewards all of its' own

For the dietetic students:

This card is sent especially
to say a big thank you,
and to let you now you're appreciated
for everything you do

Thanksgiving cards.

The year has turned its circle,
the seasons come and go.
The harvest is all gathered in;
And chilly north winds blow.
Orchards have showed their treasures,
the fields, their yellow grain.
So open wide the doorway
thanksgiving comes again.

For my lifelong friend Liz on her birthday.

Treasured moments brighten all our days
Bringing pictures from the past,
Our minds turn to some occasions
That we always wanted to last,
And as your birthday now is here,
All my love and good wishes for you,
Are in this card, that has been made,
With love especially for you.

Birthday card for my former colleague Sally.  She always had kind words for each customer even though cashiering did not come easy for her.

To a special little lady
who is loved so very much,
You leave a sort of happiness
in every heart you touch,
So on this special day
I’m sending loving wishes,
Have a very Happy Birthday,
With lots of hugs and kisses.

Together 2018

Bob said this is his idea of a perfect Thanksgiving at home, enjoying the meal with his kids.  Chris brought his young dog Hank who warmed up to Greg & Michelle and enjoyed carving, play time and walks with Bob.  We'd both worked for our fresh turkey which was the best ever!

Fresh Farm Sampling

For 4 years Bob and I have provided monthly samplings at the local Farmers Market.  I incorporated meat or poultry, seasonal produce and grains into my samplings giving the customer a taste of the entire market and a model for nutrient dense meals to make at home.  I couldn't have done it without Bob-transporting all the supplies to serve 220 customers is heavy and he had the charisma to draw people in.  Customers and children enjoyed the sampling and eagerly returned to our table.  Our sponsor, the Hardesty family of Working H Farm, became our friends.  Other farmers were eager to donate.  I have never seen people work so hard.  Dietetic students and colleagues assisted to serving and promoted our work there.  These are memories I will remember.
