Gecko
One of my staff members sheepishly told me that someone had nicknamed me "Gecko". Could it have been because I wore green shoes and lots of clothing in this my favorite color? My purse, my wallet, my car are all green. I love any green vegetable. So I didn't take offense. Like in the song Vegetable Car, "the one thing my heart requires is that you admire me!"

Pi Day (3.14)
When I posted the Square Root Day layout on Scrapbook.com, I received a comment from "papermouse" asking if I was going to make a Pi Day layout. When she told me what it was, and I did a little more research I was challenged. The group on Kitchen Keepsakes took this on as a group challenge.
"Pi Day is a holiday that commemorates the mathematical constant pi. It is celebrated in March since 3, 1 and 4 are the three most significant digits of pi in decimal form. There are many ways to celebrate Pi Day. Some of them include eating pie (pi and pie being homophones).
In 2015, Pi Day will reflect five digits of pi (3.1415) as 3/14/15 in month/day/year date format!"
My layout features my favorite Pizza "Pie", Fresh Mozzarella, Basil, Tomato on Whole Wheat Crust.
Pi Day Detail
I received this packing sheet in the mail in a small package. I sponged acrylic paints onto the bubble parts, then stamped the paint onto my plain background paper. More fun than finger painting and I avoided the mess!

Measuring Up at 58 (Cosmo Cricket)

"58 years old; married 35 years; getting the youngest ready for college; 108 pounds; eats only healthy foods; walks, walks, walks; 0 days of work missed; blood pressure goes up and down (a result of my occupation . . . or is it too much caffeine?); I don't get enough sleep; I scrap during most (all) of my free time (I do clean house once a week and I make dinner and do dishes most days of the week); age spots (too much sun in my younger days); wrinkles (wish I could say they were from smiles); wish I could say I was gracious."
This layout was made for a Cosmo Cricket/Scrapbook Trends challenge.

Mirror: Reflection of Love

I was the lucky recipient of a Tara Orr giveaway. This layout features some of those papers, flower, gathered satin and a signature Tara doily. I added many layers in hopes of designing a page "Tara" style.
The little squares across the top are actual mirrors.
Mirror: Reflection of Love (Detail)

Once a month I travel to Maryland to visit my Mom and Dad, when they make a pancake breakfast for my sister and I. After breakfast we take a short walk. These photos were taken in November. The gazebo reflection photo was made on the trip over when I stopped near a Deep Creek Lake Bed and Breakfast to take the beautiful shot. The photo of my Mom and Dad was made on the railroad tracks behind our house.
My Mom and Dad are not mirror images of each other yet they so reflect the meaning of true love. They were married in 1946, nearly 65 years ago.
