The embellishment at the top of the page is a seed pod found on the ground in Middletown Virginia. I found a flat one, flattened it more in a book, then added a little varnish. It's pretty tough so I don't think I'll end up with crumbs in the scrapbook!
The mixed media art of the lady and hearts was painted onto the side of the old diner. . . look at the texture here too!
Have a great weekend! I was out of town 3 days this week and 1 day last week with the WV Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. This weekend I'm going to try to get organized.

Another wonderful layout Cindy! Really enjoy the details!
Love how you used a little piece of nature in your project Cindy! I loved reading about your adventure!
I think you are the only scrapper I know who takes these little local day trips and chronicles local history and scenes. Inspiring! I should do the same, although our CA history is not as long as your state's. Happy Easter~
I love traveling through the world via your pages. This one is no exception! The seed pod is just too cool. Amazing addition!
Such a wonderful layout as always!!!
Wow, Cindy! I am loving this page so much! I really like how you used a little bit of nature on your layout! And I loved reading about the nostalgia of a country drive. I remember that we loved those "Sunday drives" when we were kids! My dad and mom would take us to and fro and just about everywhere during those rides through the country!!!!!
Love this layout Cindy! The photos are just wonderful.
That's great you got something from the land to add as an important part to your scrapbooking process!
How cool, Cindy, love that you included the varnished seed pod, love the trimmed-out edges around the photos! Also, I just love your title and journaling themes, like the "lovers of special places" LO below.
how pretty!!
What a fabulous idea to use the seed pod, your layout is gorgeous....love that journaling and the information.
That is so cool how you incorporated a seed pod into your layout. Love it!
