March Cards

My brother-in-law Nelson celebrates the first birthday of the month.  I remember how he'd hold our boys in the air (he had 3 of his own) and loved the little ones.  My sister says - he is an original!

"A happy birthday is what we wish for you,
With cheer and good wishes the whole year
through. We hope today's a good one with
a few drinks and cake and all your wishes
may come true, whatever you make.

Our scrapbook friend Vicki sent me a huge box of lovely papers-just in time for me to create thank you cards for our state professional meeting.  I had multiple copies of each paper-so it was easy to use both sides of the papers!  Thank you Vicki!

"This special wish
Is sent to you
To say thank you
For all the good you do."

St. Patrick's Day cards for Mom, sisters and another friend-Vicki- who sends me gifts year round!

"I send you all the blessings on this St. Patrick’s Day
May good health and wealth surround you
As you travel on your way
May happiness walk beside you your troubles all be few
And wishing you the luck of the Irish
In this card sent to you."

A birthday card for my precious nephew A.J.

"I wish you all the very best now that your birthday is here,
May all good things be yours today & through the coming year.
May today be filled with sunshine with friends & laughter too-
For you deserve the very best in life to come to you."

A birthday card for Betty-who loves owls!

"I made this card with love & care especially for you
As you are such a special person who is loved a whole lot too.
I couldn’t let your birthday pass without sending good wishes your way
May your day be nothing but wonderful & may good luck be with you today!"

Foundation Basket Note Cards (no verse) to raise money at our annual professional meeting.

For my nephew Cale who turned 14.

"I hope that your 14th
Birthday will be just
As special as you!"

For my brother Jim who turned 61.

"Two little words
And now they’re just for you.
So celebrate your special day
It’s unique & all your own
Make it a special occasion
The best you’ve ever known."

In That Spirit

Our daughter-in-law Michelle made the announcement for their move to Sweden like this:
"A ship in harbor is safe.  BUT THATS NOT WHAT SHIPS ARE BUILT FOR!  In that spirit, Greg and I are moving to Sweden at the end of the semester."

Greg will join the software engineering division of Chalmers/Gothenburg University and Michelle will join Volvo Trucks a a Systems Engineer.  They are really excited for a new city , new opportunities and new adventures and for the two going as equals.

February Cards

Both our sons celebrate birthdays in February.  Chris was 26 this year, Greg 32.  We are very proud of them.

This is a thank you for my sister Amy who bought our Mom a tank of heating oil.  I sent this card with a check to help with the payment.

I'm hoping these folks like to receive Valentines as much as I do.

From Little Things

Today is our son Chris' 26th birthday.  When Chris was born, he weighed only 4 1/2 #.  The pictures here are of Chris around his first birthday.  The title of the page is actually from the background paper "From Little Things Big Things Grow".  I can't tell you how proud we are of this young man today!

Bob wrote the journaling:  "The size of your child's face will change throughout the years, but the smile on it will always be the same.  Happiness has no age limit."

January Cards

My older sister Terry has a birthday on January 10.  This card is for her.

"Happy birthday sister
hope all your dreams come true,
you're someone who is special
there is no sister quite like you"

After Christmas we received a large package with a collection of gifts from Julie, who saves things throughout the year to send us during the holiday.  There were handmade apple placemats, a beautiful apple baking dish and a clear apple shaped plate.  Julie writes a handwritten note about her life and encloses.  I am touched by her memories of our time we worked together many years ago.  This is my thank you card for her.

"Thank you for the gift,
And all your wishes too,
To spend your hard earned money,
On me was very kind of you,
You really made my day,
And this card is to let you know,
I never will forget,
The kindness that you showed."

My former colleague Jim celebrates a birthday on Groundhog Day.  I couldn't resist making this card for him.

"Here’s hoping there’s100% chance you’ll have a Happy Birthday!"
